Crossing America Goes to North Cascades National Park
Students join Ranger friends to explore one of the most remote and wild landscapes in the United States.
We investigate how glaciers shape the land, why they are shrinking, and what that means for rivers, forests, and communities. Together, we consider the importance of wilderness protection and climate science in preserving this rugged mountain environment.
Engineering Design Challenge: Students design and build a model channel or system that can carry and store glacier meltwater. They must consider slope, materials, and storage capacity to simulate how water is managed in mountain landscapes.
