Wild & Wonderful Parks Visit #2!
Today, we took 800 students at Elizabeth Holladay School in Richmond, VA, on an unforgettable journey through Wild & Wonderful Parks with Crossing America!
From coast to coast, we explored national parks and connected the science of these incredible places to what students see in their own communities. Our Dark Sky Engineering Class was a highlight as we teamed up with 41 amazing students in a Spanish Language Immersion class!
These young engineers tackled light pollution by reimagining what neighborhoods, zoos, hotel complexes, parks, and even a working elevator could look like with redesigned lighting. Using flashlights & ping pong balls, they built and engineered street lights for their communities—so creative!
And the best part? The entire school committed to the Thank A Ranger Project, promising to send letters to all 430+ national parks!
We had an absolute blast, and we can't wait for the next stop on this adventure!
